Our annual Breathe! Wellbeing Day was a fabulous success. What a great day – the weather stayed fine, and loads of people turned up. The table massages with Karen and Emma in the Therapy Room (therapeutic and hot stones massage) went down a treat, and the seated massages with Lindsay, Craig and Eva were also taken up to an extent that the therapists worked non-stop in the afternoon. We raised an amazing £600.96 altogether on the day to get the Highfield Adventure Playground equipment fund off to a flying start, well done everybody!
The Therapy Room is delighted to be supporting Highfield Adventure Playground at its next Breathe open day on 28th April. The therapists will be donating their takings toward rebuilding the big swing – a fantastic piece of equipment currently out of action and not swinging at all! We want to contribute to replacing the old wooden structure with one that conforms to current Health and Safety regulations. More information about what is happening at the Adventure Playground can be found on Facebook, under “Friends of Adventures”.
Even though massage as such is quite an environmental thing to do and give (no packaging required!) Therapy Room Sheffield is quite conscious about the electricity consumption involved with keeping the room warm and cozy and the towels heated. In an effort to offset the impact, we have just sponsored 6 trees with South Yorkshire Forest. The picture to the left is by Lake District artist Joan Prickett, who is exhibiting her art in the “Green Wing” at Hagglers Corner. If you are interested in sponsoring local regeneration, with an opportunity to plant trees yourself, visit http://www.syforest.co.uk/gift/.
